Rick’s Laws of Listening Dynamics:
It is impossible to listen to you unless we first ask you questions about your landscape. Even better than that is to simply listen to what you are saying from the moment we arrive, until we leave.
We don’t ask questions like, ” So what do you want us to do for you?” or my favorite, ” How can we help you?” My experience is that people will tell you exactly what is important to them, if you are listening from the moment you pick up the phone. A prospective client might not know too much about landscape design and installation, but they do know all about what they want.
Our goal at the first meeting is to keep you talking about what’s important. It could be a specific color palette, privacy, or room for children to run and play. The important thoughts on a persons mind about their yard could be any one of a thousand different things. We come prepared to listen, so that we will understand what those particular things are that you care about and so that we will know how to help you bring those ideas into reality.
